There was a farmers market on the Sunday, and plenty of other stalls including a local arts exhibition.

A report on the 2004 festival by Mark Haslam
The Beer Tent

We were rather busy! By the time I had left, at 4.00pm on Sunday, over 1000 people had visited and drunk over 30 barrels of beer, cider and perry - that's over 2500 pints. Not bad in less than two days at a very rural festival! A stunning success. We ran out of everything in the end! Sold all two hundred commemorative glasses in about six hours. We were literally drunk dry by 3.15pm on the Sunday, and they had moved on to drinking the pub dry later that evening. Even the bus link we were operating was over-subscribed, and we had to call on an additional bus! Thankfully, when we did sell out, people were understanding - probably helped by the fact there was still plenty happening in the pub field - with stalls, and families enjoying the convivial atmosphere and late afternoon sunshine.

Next year we're going to have to move up the numbers of beers, ciders and perrys. We'll also need a larger marquee and more volunteer helpers. This past weekend we had 32 different cask ales, three ciders and three perrys. 29 actually on together at once. You'd have thought that would have been enough! We even made an emergency re-order for more beer on the Saturday afternoon. Mel, late of the Butchers, was despatched to Dent brewery to pick up three extra barrels - otherwise, we'd have had no beer to even open with on the Sunday! Excellent feedback from visitors. Universally, people really enjoyed the beers, atmosphere and the masses of entertainment. A great success. Even bigger and better for next year! I think this event is starting to put the area 'on the map'.

The BBQ by Sunday we're running out
